Triticum vulgaris

Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) is one of the oldest cultivated plants. Annual grass, belongs to gramineae family. The plant can reach up to 1.5 m in height. It is green in color, but turns to golden when ripens. Typically, the roots of wheat go very deep down in the ground, even up to one meter. The stem is straight, has nodules at regular distance and hollow from inside. The leaves are lanceolate. Wheat inflorescence is well known spike, and the fruit is a grain of wheat. Spike contains between 50-80 grains.
