Rosa centifolia is a plant widespread over all continents and is cultivated since antiquity. The plant grows spontaneously and is cultivated as a decorative plant. Stem can reach up to 120 cm (climbing species may exceed 2 m), branched and covered with thorns. The leaves grow opposite, jagged margins and some species have stinging margins. Flowers have different colors and grow solitary, grouped in inflorescences (especially in climbing species).
