Centipeda Minima is a climbing plant with smooth leaves, numerous branches spreading from the root, and 8-20 cm long. The leaves are oblong, obovate to oblanceolate, 1cm long. Achenes are 1cm in length.
Chemical composition – Contains a volatile oil and an amorphous bitter principle, myriogynine. It contains an alkaloid, a glucoside and saponin derivatives, lactones sesquiterpene two monoterpedoids together with five known thymol derivatives. (-) Cis-chrysantenol-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside, methyl 3, 5-dicapheoylquinaet, quinic acid, 3,5-di-O-cafeoyl, pentanoic acid, tricine, 2-amino-4-methyl caryophyllene, 2 (2-fluorophenyl) thymol and α-humulene.
Properties – Soothing, anti-inflammatory, antibruise, antitussive, diuretic, depurative, anti-infective, anti-rheumatic, invigorates blood circulation.
