Anemia

Types, causes, symptoms and treatment

Anemia

Anemia is not a disease in itself but rather a sign of illness. Anemia can be mild, moderate or severe enough to cause a number of complications that can be life-threatening. Anemia is diagnosed when there is a decrease in the amount of hemoglobin in comparison to the normal range of 12-16 g / 100 ml as well as decreased hematocrit and red blood cell counts in the body. Hemoglobin is a complex protein (containing iron) which is the most important component of red blood cells in the blood called RBCs or erythrocytes. Hematocrit is the ratio of red cell volume and plasma volume expressed as a percentage. Anemia is classified considering the size of red blood cells and its hemoglobin content.

The most common types of anemia:

Iron deficiency anemia:
Iron-deficiency anemia is the type of anemia caused by iron deficiency in the body. As the most common form of anemia, it can be treated at home, of course after medical advice and a set of tests. Frequently affects pregnant women, young children and adults aged over 50 years. Iron-deficiency anemia occurs when the body is iron deficient. The body tries to compensate for this, producing more red blood cells, but of smaller sizes than normal. At this stage clinical manifestations appear to include: fatigue, weakness and lack of stamina, difficulty in concentrating, headaches, irritability and pale skin.

anemiaPernicious anemia (Addisson-Bierner anemia):
Pernicious anemia is a condition resulting from an accentuated deficiency of vitamin B12 in the body. It is a condition in which the body is prone to the second half of life. Addisson-Bierner anemia is an autoimmune disease caused by destruction of the gastric cells which secrete hydrochloric acid and intrinsic factor, and due the absence of the latter, causing malabsorption of vitamin B12. Symptoms are similar to any other type of anemia like: fatigue, difficulty in concentrating, pallor, etc. The diagnosis is established by an examination of a bone marrow cells by doctor that reveals low levels of vitamin B12.

Anemia caused by folic acid deficiency:
This type of anemia is caused by folic acid deficiency is the most common type of megaloblastic anemia (red blood cells that have large dimensions). The causes of folic acid deficiency anemia are: inadequate intake of foods rich in folic acid, folic acid malabsorption or increased need for folic acid in pregnant women. Symptoms may include dizziness, chronic fatigue, weakness, loss of appetite, pallor, difficulty in concentrating, weight loss, etc.

Hemolytic anemia:
Hemolytic anemia is a type of anemia in which red blood cells are destroyed and they can not be properly replaced by the bone marrow.

Acute posthemorrhagic anemia:
Acute posthemorrhagic anemia occurs due to a large decrease in hemoglobin in a short period of time due to hemorrhage. The most common cause of this type of anemia is trauma, but can be found in other types of bleeding (of digestive tract, in cases of profuse menstruation, cancer, ruptured ectopic pregnancy) or due to excessive blood donation. Symptoms of posthemorrhagic anemia are tachycardia, hypotension, agitation followed by lethargy, increased respiratory load etc.

Causes:
Decreased numbers of red blood cells is caused by blood loss or inadequate production of red blood cells in the bone marrow. Therefore, in women, during menstruation, there may be symptoms of anemia. Other causes of severe anemia may be related to folic acid deficiency, iron deficiency, tumor or parasitic diseases and other serious diseases such as leukemia or bone marrow disorders. Poor nutrition, abundant bleeding and a lack of hemoglobin can also be causes of severe anemia.

Symptoms:
Most types of anemia are characterized approximately by the same symptoms: chronic fatigue, dizziness, dullness, impaired vision, pallor, insomnia, fatigue, anorexia, palpitations and headache, decreased level of concentration, intellectual capacity and muscular efficiency and decreased resistence to physical exertion, nose bleeding, increased respiratory and heart rate, brittleness of nails and hair.

Expert consultation:

The most important analysis that is required when there exist symptoms of anemia are complete blood count, hemoglobin test. A complete blood analysis is useful to provide essential information about the nature and causes of evolution of anemia.

During a complete blood count, doctor tests: the number of red blood cells, hematocrit, hemoglobin, mean corpuscular volume (MCV), mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH) and mean erythrocyte hemoglobin concentration (MCHC). Depending on the individual patient and his medical history, doctor chooses the best way of testing.

To treat anemia, diet has an important role. Carrot juice contains significant amounts of one of the most important elements useful in the production of red blood cells and hemoglobin: iron, vitamin C, vitamin B2, folic acid. Anemic treatment involves the consumption of carrot juice in the morning on an empty stomach, two glasses of carrot juice, which replaces breakfast, and can be taken for a month. The diet includes foods rich in iron: soy, peas, beans, nettles, lettuce, spinach, sorrel, beetroot, turnips, tomatoes, garlic, onion, parsley, apricots, figs, black currants, peaches, strawberries, red grapes, beef, pork liver, kidney, heart and beef liver, egg yolk, milk, nuts, hazelnuts.

In addition, anemia can be treated successfully using the medicinal herbs containing minerals, in particular iron and vitamins, especially vitamin C, essential for the absorption of iron.

The experts of STAR INTERNATIONAL MED, after thorough research, created the product GLOBY FORTE which is a natural powerful anti-anemic. It contains ayurvedic herbs: (Punica granatum-Pomegranate, Rubia Cordifolia-Manjista, Tinospora Cordifolia-Guduchi, Curcuma amada-Amada, Embilica officinalis-Amla) that support liver and spleen health, maintain blood health through their high content of iron and vitamins, in particular vitamin C.

These herbs due to their powerful antioxidant and detoxifying effects, support the body against the harmful actions of many factors, including free radicals, helping to maintain the body’s natural defense capacity. Bioactive substances of herbs contained in GLOBY FORTE also support the normal functioning of the nervous (by sustaining the general and cerebral tone) and digestive system (by maintaining appetite and normal bowel). It is an adjuvant in weight loss and detoxification therapy and providing the necessary vitamins and minerals to the body, helping to correct anemia, improving tone and relieving fatigue and exhaustion.
GLOBY FORTE due to the antioxidant and detoxifying effect of the herbs in its composition helps maintain blood health in terms of quantity and quality, the smooth functioning of the liver and spleen, to mitigate the effects of anorexia, to support the body’s natural defense capacity.
