Curcuma Amada is an under exploited crop that grows abundantly in tropical soils with good irrigation. From the botanical and morphological pont of view, the plant is related to turmeric (Curcuma longa), but has a shorter duration of cultivation with six months. The rhizomes are yellow from inside and have lighter color on the outside. The rhizomes give raw mango kind fragrance when crushed.

Chemical composition – Contains starch, phenolic acids, oils, terpenoids and curcuminoids, such as difurocumenonol, amadannulene and amadaldehyde.

Properties – Appetizer, antipyretic, aphrodisiac, diuretic, emollient, expectorant dermo protector, antiasthmatic, antioxidant, supports health of blood, detoxifier, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, inhibit platelet aggregation, cytotoxic, anti-allergic and hypotriglyceridemic.
